Hi, I’m Sarah, and welcome to my blog focused on women’s mental health. So, who am I? Nobody special really, just your average thirty-four year old mother of two, wife and worker who likes to write, from both a personal and objective perspective, about mental health topics.
I believe that us modern women are often forced to neglect our mental health needs amongst the multitude of other tasks demanding our attention daily, in a to-do list so long that we never quite reach the murky bottom where our peace of mind lies. We prioritise everything and everybody else, only occasionally finding a rare moment to take a deep breath and gather our thoughts, before they spin out of control.
Whilst we may need to learn to be more assertive in prioritising our mental health, it also helps to talk with other women and share our experiences of the mental load that women are often forced to carry. The aim is not to compare (or despair!), but to support each other.
I’m sure I’m not alone in finding some mental health information quite hard to understand or relate to, so I’m also on a mission to personalise mental health through relating my own experiences, in the hopes that other women will do the same. And those are the aims of my little blog!
Please join in the conversation to ensure women’s mental health matters.
